If you are injured or become ill because of your job and your employer is covered by WSIB, you may be entitled to benefits through Ontario’s workplace safety and insurance system.

Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA)
Being involved in a motor vehicle accident can be stressful and overwhelming. Along with recovering from your injuries, there are often insurance forms and treatment documents that need to be completed. The information below outlines the steps to help make the process easier.
In Ontario, a motor vehicle accident (MVA) is defined as an accident involving a motor vehicle that causes injury or death to a person. A motor vehicle includes any vehicle driven or propelled on a highway, including a motor vehicle, trailer, or similar device.
Step 1
Report the motor vehicle accident to your insurance company.
Step 2
Visit your chiropractor and let them know that your injuries are the result of a motor vehicle accident.
Step 3
For new patients: Please inform us during your first visit that your injury was caused by a motor vehicle accident.
Please bring the following information with you:
Claim number.
Date of the accident.
Adjuster’s name and contact information.
For current patients: Please let us know that you have been injured in a motor vehicle accident so we can schedule additional time to discuss your injuries and complete a physical examination.
Please bring the following information to your appointment:
Claim number.
Date of the accident.
Adjuster’s name and contact information.
Step 4
In addition to our standard clinic forms, extra paperwork is required when receiving chiropractic treatment following a motor vehicle accident.
Your insurance company will send you forms that you must complete. They will also provide Treatment Plan forms for your chiropractor. Once completed, we will submit the Treatment Plan directly to your insurer.
Step 5
If your treatment plan is approved by your insurer, the cost of your therapy will be billed directly to your auto insurance company.
If you have extended health benefits, FSCO guidelines require that your extended health insurance be billed first before your auto insurance.
The goal of treatment following a motor vehicle accident is to help you return to your pre-accident level of function.
